HAND PAINTED PLASTER STATUE – 9 Inches High
STORY ABOUT HER
A Peruvian religious of the Dominican order, she was the first saint in America. He was born in Peru on April 30, 1586. He died on August 24, 1617, at the age of 31 years. His remains are venerated in the Dominican basilica of Santo Domingo in Lima, Peru. It should be noted that Santa Rosa was never a cloistered monk, she was a lay woman. Always redeemed at her home, she organized a room as an infirmary to attend to poor children and helped Saint Martin de Porres a lot in all his needs. The church celebrates its day every year on August 23rd. She was a woman of much fasting, and she made a crown of thorns which was placed under her mantle. She is the patron saint of gardeners and florists.
