STORY ABOUT HER
She was a French Carmelite Nun. Raised in an atmosphere of faith where every virtue and aspiration were carefully nurtured and developed, her vocation manifested itself while still only a child. She entered the Carmelite convent of Lisieux when she was fifteen years old, in 1893 she was named novice teacher and there she would live the rest of her life.
He exemplified the “little path”, deep devotion to God and sought holiness through the performance of humble tasks. Her superiors asked her to write an account of her life. Story of a Soul (1898) became one of the most widely read spiritual autobiographies of all time. He was credited with numerous miracles that gave meaning to his mysterious promise: “after my death I will drop a shower of roses.”
She was canonized in 1925 and is the patron saint of missionaries and airmen. His festival is celebrated on October 1. Saint Teresa of Lisieux died in Lisieux on September 30, 1897.
PRAYER
O Little Therese of the Child Jesus, please pick for me a rose from the heavenly gardens and send it to me as a message of love. O Little Flower of Jesus, ask God to grant the favors I now place with confidence in your hands (mention in silence here). St. Therese, help me to always believe as you did in God’s great love for me, so that I might imitate your “Little Way” each day. Amen
