The Infant of Prague is one of the best-known renditions of the child Jesus. The design originated in a monastery in Bohemia, but was eventually passed on to the Carmelites. When the Carmelites fled in 1628 because of unrest, the church that housed the statue was destroyed and the statue was broken.
