The Autobiography of Saint Therese of Lisieux: The Story of a Soul

St Therese of Lisieux (1873-1897), Doctor of the Church, known as 'The Little Flower, was asked by her sister, the Prioress of the Lisieux Carmel, to write down her life story. The result was 'The Story of A Soul', a spiritual guide for millions since its publilcation in 1898 and the most popular autobiography of a journey to God since St Augustine's 'Confessions.' Pope Pius X called St Therese "the greatest saint of modern times" while Pope Pius XI said of her," this holy woman attained the knowledge of supernatural things in such abundant measure that she was able to point out the sure way of salvation to others."
